Program Overview

Thank you for your interest in becoming an authorized certifier under Bee Better Certified.

Bee Better Certified is a one of a kind, third-party verified, food and farming certification program that champions growers who make a commitment to pollinator conservation and regenerative agricultural practices.

This program distills down the best and most up-to-date pollinator science and field tested methods to set the standard for pollinator conservation in agricultural landscapes.

Most importantly, third-party verification from an accredited certifier ensures that the rigorous requirements are being met.

About the Program

There are two key components to Bee Better Certified that are verified by authorized certifying bodies:

1) Farm Level Certification: growers must meet the required farm-level practices outlined in the Bee Better Certified Production Standards.

2) Licensed Use of the Bee Better Seal/Ingredients Seal: the licensing agreement between the certifying body and any brands wishing to use the Bee Better Seal and/or Ingredients Seal on product packaging.

An accredited certifier must demonstrate a rigorous approach to upholding these standards and have the ability to assure all stakeholders that farms certified under the BBC program are meeting these high standards for pollinator conservation.

There are two key components to Bee Better Certified that are verified by authorized certifiers:

As the standard owner, Xerces has the ongoing responsibility to maintain dialogue with accredited certification bodies, including soliciting and incorporating feedback, and the responsibility to maintain the Production Standards and all associated documents.

With the participation of the advisory board and other industry experts, Xerces will continue to build on its robust set of standards that protect pollinators and utilize the best available science and practice to maintain the gold standard for pollinator conservation.
