We offer flexible packages that focus on one or more specific areas of the standards:
Habitat Planning & Management: We can provide step-by-step guidance that allows you to create and manage habitat, or we can directly assist with planting and maintenance.
Pesticide Risk Assessment: Xerces will evaluate the risk that your current pesticide application practices pose to pollinators, along with guidance on how to mitigate that risk.
Non-pesticide Techniques: Xerces can evaluate your current scouting and monitoring practices or facilitate the development of new protocols and record-keeping methods. Our goals are to help you meet the standards and prevent or ameliorate pest and disease issues.
Bee Better Certified Plan Development: We can work with you to fill out your farm-specific Bee Better Certified Plan (BBCP) and compile associated records. Your BBCP demonstrates your farm’s compliance with the Bee Better Certified Production Standards. Your BBCP must be submitted to Oregon Tilth as part of your application for certification and made available during Oregon Tilth’s on-site inspection.
The Consultation Process
Fill out the Xerces Bee Better Consultation Services Notice of Interest form, found in the Documents Center, and send it to email@example.com. We will use your information to develop a contract, including an individualized timeline and outline of services, as well as a consultation fee. After you review, sign, and return the contract, Xerces will contact you to start delivering assistance customized to your farm.
The Bee Better Certified seal identifies and celebrates farmers and businesses that adopt farm management practices that support pollinators. For consumers, the seal demonstrates your brand’s commitment to pollinator conservation and sustainable agricultural practices. Our services are tailored to your needs and may include the following:
Supply Chain Analysis: Xerces can work with you to identify and prioritize ingredients in your supply chain that can be targeted for certification.
Farmer Education: As you recruit your supplier-farmers, we can help educate them about how Bee Better works as well as how the practices we require can directly benefit their operations.
Support for Transitioning Farmers: Once your company has identified supplier-farmers that are ready to pursue certification, we can directly support their adoption of Bee Better habitat management and pesticide mitigation practices. We can also assist with the development of the Bee Better Certified Plan, a core piece of the certification application process.

Disclaimer: Neither the consultation services nor the creation of a Bee Better Certified Plan by the Xerces Society guarantees certification. Bee Better Certification is administered by Oregon Tilth, an independent third party certifier, who makes decisions based on independent farm inspections and review. All requirements of the Certification process must still be met.
